Nomination Forms and Criteria

Nominations are open to anyone in the track & field community.

Nomination forms are open May 15, 2026 - July 15, 2026 and available below. All nominations must be submitted via the official online platform. No nominations will be accepted via any other format.

  • Athlete Nomination Form
  • Coach Nomination Form
  • Contributor Nomination Form

All nominee information must be entered directly into the form. Please provide as much complete and accurate detail as possible.

Before You Submit

Please review the following prior to submitting a nomination:

  • Confirm eligibility: Ensure your nominee meets the official criteria and has not already been nominated. Submissions that do not meet the criteria will not be considered by the Screening Committee.
  • Complete the form thoroughly: Strong nominations require detailed and well-researched information.

You may submit multiple nominations.

Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria

Before submitting, review the current list of inductees to confirm the nominee has not already been inducted.

Athlete

Only open (senior-level) accomplishments are considered; youth and masters achievements are not included.

To be eligible, an athlete must meet one or more of the following:

  • World record holder
  • American record holder
  • World champion
  • Olympic medal
  • World or American leader in an event for three or more years
  • Winner of four or more U.S. national open championships

Athletes must be at least three years removed from open competition to be eligible, unless they are 40 years of age or older. Athletes may continue competing at the masters level during this period.

Coach

Nominees must:

  • Have an outstanding record of coaching champions at their respective level (e.g., national, collegiate, high school)
  • Demonstrate sustained excellence or other significant achievements
  • Have coached for a minimum of 20 years

Coaches must be retired from full-time coaching for at least one year, unless they have coached for 35 years or more.

Contributor

Nominees must:

  • Have served the athletics community with distinction
  • Demonstrate outstanding contributions in the best interests of the sport for at least 20 years.
