The USATF Authorized Athlete Representative educational seminars are generally provided three times each year: once at the USATF Annual Meeting, once at an AAM Meeting, and once at the U.S. Outdoor Track & Field Championships (or Olympic Track and Field Team Trials during Olympic years). The USATF Authorized Athlete Representative educational seminars usually last for approximately four (4) hours and provide the latest information available from USATF’s High Performance department, USADA, World Athletics, AAM, and others. The USATF Authorized Athlete Representative Exam Preparation Course is a mandatory two (2) hour course that offers additional information for individuals who have applied and are currently registered to take the USATF Authorized Athlete Representative Exam. *Note: You must have an application on file or already be a USATF Authorized Athlete Representative in order to attend the educational seminars. No preregistration is necessary.
World Athletics is responsible for setting all dates associated with the World Athletics Exam. World Athletics has not yet announced when this Exam will be available.
The Exam will cover the Athlete—Agent Relationship, USATF Regulation 25, Elite Athlete Support Programs, Anti-Doping, and other issues relevant to athlete representation. It is a 50-question multiple-choice examination, has a time limit of two (2) hours and participants must score an 80 percent (80%) or higher to pass the Exam. The Exam is open book and prepared notes may be used while taking the Exam. USATF will provide Exam materials to all new applicants prior to the USATF Exam. Prior Exam booklets can be found in the Resources Center (these books remain relatively the same from year to year). The Exam and Preparation Course are administered in conjunction with the USATF Annual Meeting. The Exam and Preparation Course are administered each year after the application window has closed. Attendance at the Exam Preparation Course is mandatory.
