(Deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on November 1, 2024) USATF is accepting online applications for volunteer medical service with select 2025 USATF International teams and other domestic and international events where the USATF national office will send medical providers. Additionally, the online application will be used to add interested medical providers to USATF's general candidate pool of potential medical volunteers. The link to apply can be found at the bottom of this announcement. All individuals must apply to be eligible for consideration for a team medical staff position — even if you have applied for teams and/or served on a team in prior years. Applications are vetted by a subcommittee of the USATF Sports Medicine and Science Committee at the USATF Annual Meeting in December. Announcements of selections and alternates typically occurs in January. Currently, USATF is asking for applications from the following disciplines:
Physician (MD or DO), Athletic Trainer (ATC), Physical Therapist (PT), Chiropractor (DC), licensed massage therapist (LMT), and licensed / qualified providers in the mental health / sport psychology / mental performance coach disciplines. At this time, USATF is not accepting applications from individuals in disciplines that are not listed above (e.g., nurses, dentists, podiatrists, EMTs, etc.).
Submission of application must include a full and accurate disclosure of the information requested. False representation of any information will immediately disqualify an individual from the pool of candidates. Service at any of the events listed as part of the online application will require being a member of the USATF Medical Registry. Requirements for the USATF Medical Registry include: 1) a current USATF membership, 2) completion of a criminal background screen through NCSI, 3) completion of the online SafeSport Course, 4) agreeing to a Safe Sport and USATF Medical Registry code of conduct, and 5) completion of a medical licensure background screen through NCSI. NOTE: Each provider discipline has specific educational, licensure, experience, and other requirements to become a member of the registry. Before completing this application or completing the USATF Medical Registry application, we encourage you to review the USATF Medical Registry requirements in your discipline at USATF Registered Medical Providers. NOTE: You may complete this USATF Volunteer Medical Staff application for 2025 with only a USATF membership number. You can wait to complete the USATF Medical Registry application at a later date (and pay the background screen fee), if selected to serve. This application form is specific for national team medical staff service and volunteer service at select USATF Championship events (e.g., USATF Indoor National Championships, USATF Youth Indoor National Championships, USATF Outdoor National Championships, and USATF U20 Outdoor National Championships). Volunteer medical staff for other USATF Championship events are handled by the local organizing committee (LOC) of each event. Please contact the LOC for the specific event if you are interested in volunteering. As part of the online application form, you must upload electronic copies / scans of:
It is STRONGLY recommended that you get these electronic copies / scans in place before beginning the online submission process, as there is no option to save and update later. Your application WILL NOT be considered complete without these documents being uploaded with the application. The deadline to submit this application will be 11:59 p.m. EST on November 1, 2024. If you have any questions about this form, please contact medical@usatf.org. Link to apply online: here.
