Aggie Alumni Will Return to Compete at Familiar Track
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Olympic gold medalist Quincy Hall will return to the track for a 400m showdown against world indoor record holder Khaleb McRae at the inaugural Lone Star Grand Prix Fueled by 44 Farms. The World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet will take place June 6 at Texas A&M University, with tickets now available.
Hall makes his return to competition exactly one year after his last race—a victory in the 400m at the Rome Diamond League on June 6, 2025. The 2024 Olympic champion is the fourth-fastest man in history at the distance, highlighted by his 43.40 performance in the Olympic final in 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
While Hall stepped away from competition, McRae surged onto the global stage. In 2025, he broke 44 seconds for the first time and earned silver as part of Team USA’s 4x400m relay at the World Championships. He has carried that momentum into 2026, setting a pending indoor world record of 44.52, winning silver at the World Indoor Championships, and anchoring Team USA to gold in the 4x400m relay.
“I’m excited to be part of the Lone Star Grand Prix,” said McRae. “Competing at a high level in front of a strong Texas crowd is always special and I’m looking forward to putting on a great race. It’s a great opportunity to keep building momentum this season.”
Fans of Texas A&M will also have the opportunity to welcome recent Aggie alumni back to E.B. Cushing Stadium. Jacob Wooten ’19, will compete in the pole vault. At Texas A&M he was an SEC champion and holds school records in both the indoor and outdoor vault. Wooten competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Also returning to campus is Sam Whitmarsh ’25 who will race in the 800m. He’s the 2025 NCAA champion in that event won four SEC titles in an Aggie uniform.
The Lone Star Grand Prix Fueled by 44 Farms is part of the USATF Tour and will feature a full slate of events, broadcast live on NBC from 4–6 p.m. ET.
Additional athletes will be announced in the coming weeks. Reserved and general admission tickets are now available
