Nominations Open for National Track & Field Hall of Fame Class of 2026

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Track & Field Hall of Fame will induct its first new members in five years this fall, and nominations are now open for the Class of 2026. Members of the track & field community are invited to submit nominations recognizing athletes, coaches, and contributors who have made a lasting impact on the sport.

Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:

  • Athlete
  • Coach
  • Contributor

All nominations must be submitted online and include complete and accurate supporting information. Before submitting, nominators are encouraged to review the official eligibility criteria and current list of Hall of Fame inductees.

Athlete nominees must have achieved excellence at the open level, including accomplishments such as Olympic medals, world championships, American or world records, or multiple national titles. Coaches and contributors must demonstrate long-term impact and distinguished service to the sport.

“The National Track & Field Hall of Fame honors the individuals whose achievements and leadership have shaped our sport across generations,” said Max Siegel, CEO of USA Track & Field. “We encourage the entire track & field community to help us recognize the athletes, coaches, and contributors whose legacies deserve to be celebrated and preserved.”

Following the nomination period, a committee made up of current athletes, coaches, members of the media, national office staff and past Hall of Fame inductees will review eligible nominations to determine the 2026 honorees. The honorees will be celebrated at the USATF Annual Meeting in Portland this December.

Located at The Armory in New York City, the National Track & Field Hall of Fame serves as both a museum and interactive learning center celebrating the history and future of the sport. The 15,000-square-foot facility features Olympic memorabilia, interactive exhibits, and the Hall Gallery’s iconic 40-foot etched glass Wall of Fame overlooking the Nike Track & Field Center.

Multiple nominations may be submitted.
