Tinch's Diamond League Final win earns him USATF Athlete of the Week honors

INDIANAPOLIS -- Capping off the regular season with a convincing win in the Diamond League final, Cordell Tinch (Pittsburg, KS/USATF Missouri Valley) earned recognition as the 32nd USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2025.

Tinch, the runner-up in the men's 110 hurdles at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships, completed a run of three straight Diamond League wins with a 12.92 in the final at Zürich to equal the meet record as he notched his third wind-legal sub-13 second clocking of the season.

The leader on the world list this year with a 12.87 that won the Shaoxing Diamond League meet in May, Tinch also had a win at the Xiamen DL meet and a pair of runner-up efforts at Rome and Monaco. His time at Zürich tied the meet record set by Roger Kingdom in 1989 and put him .2 seconds ahead of his nearest challenger.
