INDIANAPOLIS — Sprinting to gold in the 200 and anchoring Team USATF to a national U20 record in the 4x100, Shawnti Jackson (Wake Forest, North Carolina/USATF North Carolina) earned recognition as the 28th USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2023. Jackson dominated the 200 at the Pan American U20 Championships in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, clocking 22.35 to move to No. 3 on the all-time U.S. U20 and high school performer lists. Her time also made her the No. 7 all-time world U20 performer. Jackson came back to anchor the 4x100 to a 42.88 to win by more than two seconds and break the existing American U20 record of 43.28, set last year at the World U20 Championships.
