Recognition to take place as part of the Team USA Collegiate Recognition Awards celebration. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — USA Track & Field announced today it will honor the University of Oregon as the winner of its 2020 USA Track & Field Collegiate Impact Award, which honors the top-contributing school on the 2020 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team in Tokyo. As part of the recognition, Rob Mullens, athletic director at Oregon, will be recognized during the Team USA Collegiate Recognition Awards which will run in conjunction with the National Football Foundation’s 64th Annual Awards celebration on December 6, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Collegiate track and field has long served as a prime pathway for athletes seeking a spot on the world’s #1 track and field team,” said USATF CEO Max Siegel. “The University of Oregon has a long and storied tradition of providing athletes with high-caliber competition, coaches, and facilities, and that experience prepared athletes for achievement at the highest level – representing Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games.” At the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, 95% of the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team competed collegiately. Nine U.S. Olympians competed at the University of Oregon – more than any other school – earning the Ducks the 2020 USATF Collegiate Impact Award. Three Ducks went on to earn medals in Tokyo: English Gardner (silver/4x100m relay), Jenna Prandini (silver/4x100m relay) and Raevyn Rogers (bronze/800m). Two Ducks – Cole Hocker and Micah Williams – donned the “O” as qualified to represent Team USA in Tokyo during their collegiate careers. USA Track & Field joins seven other National Governing Bodies that will participate in this year’s Team USA Collegiate Recognition Awards – a celebration that will honor sport-specific contributors (NGB Collegiate Impact Awards) and overall Team USA contributors (Team USA Collegiate Impact Awards) to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
