INDIANAPOLIS — Winning the USATF 100 Mile Championships in world record time, Camille Herron (Oro Valley, Arizona) earned recognition as the seventh USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2022. Herron, 40, won the USATF 100 Mile Championships in Nevada in 12:41:11, bettering her own International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) world record of 12:42:40 that she set in 2017. She also beat her IAU world record for 12 hours by almost three kilometers, covering 152 km. Herron was the overall winner of the championship race at the Jackpot Ultra Running Festival in Henderson’s Cornerstone Park with a gap of almost 30 minutes to the next finisher.
