INDIANAPOLIS -- Grayson Murphy (Salt Lake City, Utah) won the women’s XTerra 21K Trail Run World Championship to earn USATF Athlete of the Week.
Murphy, who last week won the Women’s World Mountain Running Championship in Argentina, covered the 21K course in Kaaawa, Hawaii, in 1:33:44, taking the women’s victory by almost 11 minutes and finishing fifth overall.

Joseph Gray — Last week’s AOW, Gray won the men’s division and overall title at the XTerra 21K Trail Run World Championship, clocking 1:20:59 to win by 1:28.
Parley Hannan — Ithaca College sophomore Hannan took women’s gold at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Louisville, winning by 18 seconds on the 6K course with a 20:53.8.
Patrick Watson — Watson, a senior at Stevenson, won the NCAA Division III Cross Country individual gold at Louisville by more than five seconds with a 24:13.9 for 8K.
Gerald Romero — Romero was the fastest masters finisher at the XTerra 21K Trail Run World Championship with a 1:39:56 in the men’s 45-49 division.
