Award Presented by RRTC
Ted Corbitt was the father of accurate road course measurement in the United States. He performed extensive research on how road courses could be measured accurately and prepared the landmark 1964 monograph Measuring Road Running Courses. He established the nation’s first course certification program and served as the country’s chief course certifier from 1964 to 1984. In honor of Ted, RRTC presents the RRTC Ted Corbitt Award, to a person who has demonstrated a superior level of skill, consistency and competency in course measurement and certification over a sustained, extended period of years. This award is presented every year at the USATF Annual Meeting. It was presented for the first time in 2015.
