There will be no late entry period or late declaration period. All appeals may be made to Sport Committee Chairs by emailing highperformance@usatf.org.
You must be a 2025 USATF member to enter. If you do not have a 2025 membership, please complete a membership application here.
You must be a U.S. citizen and meet the eligibility requirements found in USATF Rule 1.1(a).
Athletes may qualify with marks from Indoor or Outdoor competitions. There will be no conversions of entry performances for any reason.
All entry performances must be legal marks that have been achieved at a USATF-sanctioned meet or at a meet listed on the World Athletics Calendar. Meets on the World Athletics Calendar must also have results included in the World Athletics Toplists.
Marks must be achieved with fully automatic timing and legal wind readings. On the World Athletics Toplists, you should select "Only Electronic" and "Only Regular" selected from the dropdown menus where applicable.
There are no provisions for conversions of entry performances for any reason, although for select events, there are alternate events marks that can be used for qualifying (see standards). For marks that do not meet the automatic standard, marks will be scored using WA Scoring Tables and accepted in descending order to the desired field size, respecting the minimum mark. You may initially enter the Championships with a "NM" or "NT" and update your entry performance as needed.
Once the entry window has ended, entrants will no longer be able to update their entry performance. Please update all entry performances (attained by the qualifying deadline). If you need to update your mark after this date, email stats@usatf.org.
Shoes used to achieve entry performances must be included in the World Athletics Approved Shoe List, found here.
USATF Rule 8 entrants shall enter as "NM" or "NT" if a valid entry performance is not available.
Once properly entered, all athletes must complete the declaration process to affirm whether that athlete will or will not compete in each event they have entered.
All athletes who have met the Automatic Standards will be qualified regardless of field size.
There is a minimum standard in place for all events and fields will not be filled beyond these minimum standards.
If the desired field size is not achieved with Automatic qualifiers, fields will be filled to the target field size, while still respecting minimum entry standards.
To fill fields, entry marks that don’t meet the Automatic standard will be accepted in descending order of the event being contested, respecting the minimum standards.
For the 1500m, athletes can qualify with a Mile time (Women: 4:25.00 / Men: 3:52.00). Fields will not be filled with Mile times – athletes who do not have the automatic Mile standard will be considered for acceptance in the 1500m based on their best 1500m time in the qualifying window. Athletes should only submit a Mile time if it meets the Automatic standard.
For the 20k RW, athletes can qualify with a 5k RW or 10k RW time. Fields will not be filled with 5k RW or 10k RW times – athletes who do not have the automatic 5k RW or 10k RW standard will be considered for acceptance in the 20k RW based on their best 20k RW time in the qualifying window. Athletes should only submit a 5k RW or 10k RW time if it meets the Automatic standard.
Note that there are MINIMUM Qualifying Standards for all events. Pay close attention to Qualifying Guidelines regarding minimum standards and filling fields.
