The Steamboat Classic has been running strong for over 50 years. Created in 1974 by Running Central (now RC Outfitters) Founder Steve Shostrom and Illinois Valley Striders, the Classic has become a legend in the running world and throughout Central Illinois. Decades later, Steamboat is so much more than a race—it’s a community tradition that is celebrated year-round.
