The first three finishers in each age group in each event will receive gold, silver, and bronze 2023 USATF Masters Indoor Championships medals respectively. USATF Champions will also receive a championship patch; Only one patch will be awarded to an individual athlete no matter how many events they win. The fourth through eighth place finishers in each event will each receive a USATF Masters Championship ribbon. Non-US Citizens are not eligible to displace US Citizens or USA affiliated athletes for awards or to score points in the club competition. Awards may be picked up at the Awards table near the finish line. Awards may be picked up no earlier than one hour after the completion of the event. Team Championship Team trophies will be presented to the first place, second place, and third place men’s, women’s, and combined teams. Points are awarded as follows:
1st place – 8 points
2nd place – 6 points
3rd place – 4 points
4th place – 3 points
5th place – 2 points
6th place – 1 point
Team trophy presentations will take place in the infield at the conclusion of the meet.
Your competitor (bib) number must be worn on the front during all competitions (exceptions for High Jump, Pole Vault and Throws athletes). In addition, all track athletes will be required to wear a bib number on their back indicating their age division. You may pick up your bib numbers during the designated packet pickup times. Hip numbers for events 400m and longer must be worn on the left hip.
Athletes in track events and the Pentathlon must declare either online by 5:00 pm the day before their event or in person at least 60 minutes before the start of their event at the declaration desk. After declaring (either in person or online), athletes must also check-in with the clerk 15 minutes before the start of the event. To declare online for track events and the Pentathlon you will need the email and registration password that you received in your confirmation email (the password is at the bottom of the email, under the heading "Managing Your Registration"). Athletes must declare at the field event venue 15 minutes before the start of all field events, except the pole vault. Pole vaulters must declare one hour before the start of the event.

Two (2) competition-approved implements of every size and weight will be provided. However, it is recommended that athletes bring their own implements and have them certified at the Implement Inspection area. The Implement Inspection area will be next to the Weight Cage on the North end of the track. Athletes wishing to use their own implements must submit those implements for inspection at least two hours before the scheduled start of their throwing event. Implements for all early morning throws (8:00 am – 10:00 am) should be checked in the evening before the event. Shots must have a plastic outer shell; metal shots are not permitted. Masters T&F Support Depot will have 30 vaulting poles available for rent during the Championships. The cost of rental is $50 per athlete if rented online, and $75 after the online rental deadline. Those paying the rental fee have access to all 30 poles, though they may have to share a particular pole with other athletes. Only ¼ inch “Pyramid Spikes” will be allowed on the competition surface at the Norton Sports and Learning Center. Prohibited spikes include “Needle Spike Pins” and “Christmas Tree Spikes”, and any length longer than ¼ inch. All shoes will be checked.
Starting blocks are permitted (they are optional) for events up to 400 meters and the 4x400 relay. Only supplied starting blocks will be allowed; no personal starting blocks will be permitted.

Any protest must be made to the event head official or to the referee, not later than 30 minutes after the results of the event are communicated, announced, or posted. Protests not filed within that time frame will be denied. live.finishtiming.com /results will be used as the official clock for each event. Once the event is marked “official,” the protest period is up for that event. Once a protest has been decided and the result of the protest communicated, announced, or posted, you have 30 minutes to file an appeal. The fee to file an appeal is $100. To file an appeal, you must submit the written appeal to the Games Subcommittee. The appeal fee is nonrefundable unless your appeal is upheld. Forms for both will be available at the Declarations and Clerking tables located on the back stretch of the track.
For appropriate and timely processing of record applications, athletes achieving a new age division record in an event should be prepared to submit a copy of their birth certificate or passport (driver’s license or similar is not acceptable), if not already submitted to USATF with your entry.
Starting heights for the high jump and pole vault competition will be determined by facility equipment limitations and the Masters Track & Field Championships Games Subcommittee. Minimum High Jump height is 0.75m (2 feet,5 inches); minimum Pole Vault height is approximately 0.85m (2 feet, 9 inches).
All eligible members of USATF and eligible members of other World Masters Athletics (WMA) Members may compete in these Championships. However, only U.S. citizens and athletes eligible to compete for the USA in international competitions may score or win Championship medals; all athletes not eligible to compete for the USA will receive equivalent awards.
There are no qualifying standards for this competition.
Athletes must be 25 years or older on March 10, 2023. Individual and relay competitions will be conducted in five-year age divisions. Please note that this is a masters meet following masters, not open, rules. i.e., the hurdles for men 25-49 will be 39 inches (Open Men use 42 inches).
All athletes must be 2023 members of USATF (or other WMA Member) in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased online. Non-U.S. citizens must be eligible members of their nation’s World Masters Athletics Member. The 2023 USATF Membership year begins on November 1, 2022. If you have selected “auto renew”, your membership will automatically renew on January 1, 2023 and you will be eligible to register at that time.
All clubs must be 2023 USATF member organizations to score team points and athletes must have that club listed in their USATF profile when entering these Championships. Find your local association here.
Club and non-club relay teams shall be separate divisions. USATF Competition Rule 332.2(g) details the definitions for both club and non-club relay teams. Non-U.S. citizens and non-USA affiliated athletes may not be members of club relay teams.
Proof of date of birth will be required from all competitors in advance. See the Verification of Age section on the entry information page for more details.
In the morning, the shuttle will run from 7:00 a.m. and run until 10:00 a.m., running in a 30 minute loop from the Springhill and Fairfield hotels to Norton Sports and Learning Center. In the afternoon, the shuttle will run starting at 3:00 p.m. until the close of the meet for the day. This will run the same 30 minute loop from the Center to the host hotels. More info will be emailed to athletes once we get closer to the meet.

An athletes’ meeting conducted by the USATF Masters Track & Field Committee will be held on Saturday, March 11 at the conclusion of competition for the day. Location TBA.
An EMT will be stationed at the Finish Line. Ice and first aid will be available.

Luggage check will be provided on Sunday March 12, 2023, the final day of competition, in the Humana Hub.
