There will be no Technical Meeting. Masters athletes and coaches should consult the Technical Instructions which will be posted on the Event website by early September, 2023. Questions should be directed to the Championship Referee.
The 12 km race is on an out and back course which starts and finishes near the entrance to the Gateway National Recreation Area in Highlands, NJ. Free parking is available adjacent to the start/finish. The course certification map & certificate can be found here.
The USATF Clerks will begin to verify team uniforms near the packet pickup table from 8:15 until 8:45 am. The whole team should report at the same time. Do not wait until the last minute to verify team uniforms. Only complete, verified teams may score. Individuals who are not on teams need not check in.
All competitors are responsible for being at the starting line no later than 8:50 am with their competition bib number and age/gender “back” number properly affixed. All USATF Masters Championship runners will start together exactly at 9:00 am. Overall, Age Division & Team Awards will be based on Gun Time. Age Graded Awards will be based on Net Time. As always, net times are accepted for Masters Age Division American Record purposes.
There is a one-hour protest period once results have been posted on site. Following the protest period, the awards ceremony will take place in the parking lot adjacent to the course start/finish. USATF Championship Medals will be awarded to the top 3 Age-Grading finishers, the top 3 Overall finishers, the top 3 finishers in each 5-year Age Division starting at 40, and the top 3 teams in each 10-year Age Division starting at 40 and up, both Men and Women. The Top 3 Teams receive medals for declared team members. In addition, Championship Patches are available for the Age Graded Champions, the Overall Champions and each Age Division National Champion. Gold (90%+), Silver (85%+) and Bronze (80%+) Elite Performance Age-Grading Medals, available only at USATF Masters LDR National Championship events, will be awarded to all who complete the Masters Championship race with an age grade score at or above 80%, representing a National Class performance or better.
