As of the May 19, 2022 CDC update, the CDC COVID-19 Community Level for New York County is HIGH. This metric is based on county-wide hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in the area. As a result, The NYC Grand Prix on June 12 will have the following COVID-19 protocols in place. All key personnel will need to produce one of the following two options:
Key personnel include the following groups: competing athletes, personal coaches, athlete representatives, medical providers, officials, and volunteers whose duties put them within close sustained contact of athletes. Individuals will receive a link from CrowdPass requesting proof of a negative test be uploaded. Following USATF guidelines, all credentialed medical providers must be fully vaccinated and (if eligible) boosted. Following CDC recommendations for communities in the COVID-19 HIGH level, masks must be worn when indoors at any event facility (including the meet hotel), while on public transportation, and when receiving medical treatments. It is advised that all participants wear masks in all other (non-event) indoor locations. Masks are not required when outdoors, but are encouraged particularly in crowded areas.
