Admission tickets to the USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships will be all digital and are available for purchase online at a discounted price if purchased by June 28th. Single day tickets are $10.00 and a 4-day pass is $35.00. All tickets must be purchased electronically on a computer or on a smart phone prior to arriving at the stadium. Any tickets purchased June 29th or later will be $12.00 for a single day pass or $40.00 for 4-day pass. Back to Top

(revised 2-2021) The USATF Youth Department announces revisions to the USATF Youth Championships Coaches Credentialing Program Policy. This revision is immediately effective. The USATF Youth Department in conjunction with the USATF Coaching Education Department encourages all coaches to take advantage of the benefits the USATF Coaches Registry Program offers. All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers on the front of their jersey during competition. If an athlete loses their bib number, a replacement may be purchased for a fee of $10.00. Packet pick-up will be available during the following times and locations:
The 2022 USATF Youth Outdoor Championships are open to 2022 USATF members who fall within the youth age divisions listed below. Athletes can join USATF by visiting USATF.org. Proof of Birth: Any athletes competing in a USATF age group championship must have their age verified. Age verification must be processed through the USATF membership portal (USATF Connect) by uploading a copy of your birth certificate or passport. Please allow 5 business days for verification to take place (all age verification for the Outdoor Championships must be submitted by Monday, June 13th). Relays: Each member of a relay team must be affiliated with the registered USATF club in their membership profile. Age divisions for the 2022 competition year are as follows:
*Note: Per USATF Rule 300.1 (c), “Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Championships.” **Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the 17-18 age division through that meet. Top eight in each individual and relay event earn medals. The winner of each event will also receive a trophy. Plaques will also be awarded to the top three teams in each age group. Each athlete entering the meet will receive a drawstring spike bag and a commemorative patch. Back to Top
There are no qualifying requirements for the USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships. Any youth-aged verified member may register and compete in the championships. Back to Top
Facility: Icahn Stadium 20 Randall’s Island Park New York, NY 10035 212-860-1899 www.randallsisland.org "Icahn Stadium is a 5,000 seat track and field and multipurpose facility located on Randalls Island in Manhattan, New York City. Designed within the former site of Downing Stadium, it opened on April 23, 2005. Icahn Stadium is named after American businessman Carl Icahn, who made a $10 million donation towards the construction of the new stadium. The stadium features an International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Class 1 certified running track with a 400-meter Mondo Super X Performance surface, and it has been the site of many international, national, and regional track and field events. "Since its opening, Icahn Stadium has hosted more than 200,000 high school, college and professional athletes and spectators during the track season. Each year, the number of meets and events that are scheduled has grown, bringing larger numbers of people to the facility. "In 2005 the Reebok/Adidas Grand Prix was created and held at the stadium, as part of the World Athletics Diamond League Series. From its inception it had distinguished itself as one of top meets to feature Olympic and World Champions.
On May 31, 2008, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt set the then world record in the 100m on the Icahn Stadium track with a time of 9.72 seconds at the Reebok Grand Prix, .02 seconds faster than the previous record held by his countryman, Asafa Powell.
On June 9, 2012, Kenyan runner David Rudisha set the record in the 800m in the U.S. with a time of 1:41.74 seconds at the Adidas Grand Prix."

Running and Field Events — All running events will check in at the clerking tents on the Icahn Stadium premier soccer field (field 10), which will also serve as the warm-up field for all events located just north of the stadium. Back to Top
All warming-up will be conducted outside of Icahn Stadium. The official warm-up field will be located on the Icahn Stadium premier soccer field (field 10) located just north of the stadium. In addition, Randall’s Island Park consists of ten miles of dedicated bicycle and pedestrian pathways and provides an urban oasis for walking and running. A concession stand will be open during the meet selling refreshments throughout the hours of competition. Custom championship t-shirts will also be available to purchase. The official meet apparel company of the Championships will be selling commemorative items from the championships. All starting blocks and batons will be supplied by meet management and athletes should not bring their own to the facility. Throwing implements will be provided by meet management. Back to Top
Athletes in the 15-16 and 17-18 age divisions may use 1 personal implement per event. Personal implements are subject to certification and must be brought to inspection at least 120 minutes prior to the event. Back to Top
Seeding: Seeds will be based on personal bests from the 2022 indoor and outdoor season. If there is an issue with your seed time or entries, email JaRon McBride BEFORE the entry deadline. Late entries will not be accepted. Advancement: For all running events from 100m through 800m, there will be two rounds of competition. The eight fastest times will advance from the first round to the final in all age divisions. The top eight competitors in each field event shall advance to the finals of their age division. Opening heights for the High Jump and Pole Vault will be three increments below the Youth Performance Guidelines. Incremental increases will be 5 cm in the High Jump and 15 cm in the Pole Vault. *Opening heights are subject to change based on the entries of each event. Finalized opening heights will be available on June 23rd at the close of entries.
Refer to USATF Rule 302.5(n). All competitors must provide their own vaulting poles. Vault athletes must report to be weighed at the venue. Athletes must have their competition bib and all poles they wish to use verified. Weigh-in and pole inspection will take place at the vault venue one hour before each event. All poles will be inspected for manufacturers’ pole ratings and the maximum top hand hold position as determined by the manufacturer. The competitors’ weights must be at or below the manufacturers’ pole ratings. No exceptions to this rule. Meet management will not be responsible for any pole that is shipped to or impounded at the meet without a hard, protective case. Athletes may ship poles for delivery no later than Wednesday, June 22, 2022. There will be a $100.00 fee for all protests. Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee no later than 30 minutes after a result has been posted. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld. Back to Top
