USATF / Olympic Trials COVID-19 Protocols
Registered Coach (“RC”), Registered Medical Provider (“RMP”), and the Authorized Athlete Representative (“AAR”) credentials are designed to allow an athlete’s coach and/or personal support access to specified areas that may include: the stadium, warm-up area and/or practice track for the purpose of preparing for competition and access to seating in the competition venue in order to support your athlete. Credentials are non-transferrable, and each support person will only be allowed to receive a maximum of one credential per category.
Individual must be 18 years of age or older to be listed as a support person.
Individual must be a current (2021) member of USA Track & Field.
Individual receiving the Registered Coach (“RC”) credential must also be a current (2021) member of USA Track & Field’s Coaches Registry Program, which includes completing an accepted Education Standard option. **View the Registered Coach section below for more information on the application process.
Individuals receiving the Registered Medical Provider (“RMP”) credential must be a current (2021) member of the USATF Medical Provider Registry which includes passing the NCSI medical licensure screen.**View the Registered Medical Provider section below for more information on the process for receiving this credential.
Authorized Athlete Representative (“AAR”) must be in good standing with all USATF authorized athlete representative requirements and have an athlete competing in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials - Track & Field event on any day.
All persons receiving a credential must acknowledge and agree to adhere to the USATF/Olympic Trials COVID-19 Protocols prior to obtaining a credential.
Credentials can be obtained at Credentialing/Packet Pick Up on-site for the following events:
2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field (Eugene, OR)
Athletes will have the option to designate one (1) complimentary credential per support category listed below by specifying the membership number of the qualified individual designated to receive that option on his or her on-line registration (entry form). *(NEW): Due to strict COVID-19 protocols, there will be no late adds or changes allowed after the on-line registration closes or on-site in Eugene. USATF will NOT accept any updates for registration. Athletes must designate (add/update) all coaches/athlete support names prior to the close of entries. Changes will not be allowed during the declaration process. In addition, credential access to the competition venue will be limited to the specific day(s) of competition in which accepted and declared athlete(s) are competing. Athlete support persons with multiple athletes should ensure all athletes affiliated designate their membership number on the entry form.
*Each athlete upon checking will be provided one coaching box pass, that will grant access to stadium, to be given to either their designated Registered Coach or Registered Medical Provider. All individuals must be 18 years of age or older to receive a credential.
All coaches designated to receive a “RC” credential must be USATF 3-Step SafeSport Compliant, meet the USATF Education Standard (new requirement – effective January 1, 2019) and specified on athlete entry form prior to the close of entries. Individuals must have a green (current) status on USATF Connect under the Memberships, Center for SafeSport Training, Background Screening and Coach Certifications tabs through the last date of competition. Only the individuals specified by participating athletes for this purpose will be allowed to receive an “RC” credential. You will not have the option to sign up for the Coaches Registry after the close of entries to obtain a coach credential. In order to gain stadium access, the qualified athlete will need to check-in at the call tent on their competition day to receive a coaches’ box pass and provide to their RC. Each athlete will receive one (1) coaches’ box pass to give to either their Registered Coach (RC) or Registered Medical Provider (RMP).

Personal support designated to receive a “AAR '' credential must be USATF 3-Step SafeSport Compliant, in good standing with all USATF authorized athlete representative requirements and specified on the athlete entry form prior to the close of entries. Only the individuals specified by a participating athlete for this purpose will be allowed to receive a “AAR” credential. You must already be an Authorized Agent Representative at this time to obtain a “AAR” credential. Credential Terms and Conditions can be found here.
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field is a controlled access event. Credentials must be worn for admittance to any area other than public areas.
Athletes must appear as “qualified” or “accepted” and “declared” on the “Status of Entries” page of the USATF website in order to receive a credential.
All athlete support persons must be designated as athlete support persons by an athlete who is “qualified” or “accepted” and “declared” per the “Status of Entries” page.
Athletes and support persons will be required to show a photo ID to pick up their credentials. Athletes should also be aware of and prepared to agree to and follow the USATF/Olympic Trials COVID-19 Protocols. Please note that access to event venues may be limited or restricted due to the USATF/Olympic Trials COVID-19 Protocols.
