Entry Information

You must be a 2012 USATF member to enter the Championships. If you do not have a 2012 membership, please complete a membership application first. You must also meet the eligibility requirements.

Entry Process and Other Important Information

• Online is the preferred method of entry (and offers a $5 discount)
• A 2012 USATF membership is required to enter online (please join online if you are not a member).
• To enter the Championships, you will be required to provide your 2012 USATF membership number and password (click here to retrieve your password if you don't know it).
• For entries close to the deadlines: although we will make every reasonable effort, we cannot guarantee responses to requests for passwords. Please do not wait until the last minute to enter!
• To enter online without an entry mark, put "NT" or "NM" (without the quotes) in the Mark box during the entry process.
• After completing your entry online, if your entry is showing "info needed" on the Status of Entries page, please fax a copy of your birth certificate or the information page of your passport--with your membership number written on it--to the USATF National Office at 1-800-833-1466.
• Non-U.S. citizens who live outside the United States: Entries must be submitted using the printable individual entry (PDF). Online entries are not available. Please note that your name will not appear on the Status of Entries page for the Championships. You may confirm your entry by sending an e-mail to USATF Illinois. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing before sending a request for your entry confirmation.

Entry Fees and Deadlines

• *The entry fee for the first event includes the required National Masters Track & Field Committee surcharge of $25 per athlete. Combined events do NOT count as the first event.
• All fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. No entry will be considered completed unless it is accompanied by full payment of fees and all required documents (see below).
• Tickets for the Awards Banquet Dinner ($30 each) may be purchased during the entry process. Tickets will be available for purchase via the online entry process until July 25. If you have already entered and wish to purchase tickets click here.

Online entries must be paid for by credit card (Visa - the only card accepted by USATF) or electronic funds transfer ("electronic check"). Paper entries must be paid for by check or money order. Please make checks payable to "USATF Illinois"

  • If entering by paper: athletes entering by mail must attach a copy of their proof-of-age document to the entry form.

USATF also recommends athletes bring a copy of their proof-of-age document to packet pick-up as a back-up measure--a proof-of-age document is required prior to receiving competitor packets.

Athletes will not be considered to be entered into the meet until ALL required documents have been received. Athletes missing required documents will be listed as "info needed" on the Status of Entries page of the USATF website until all such documents are received.

Entry Status

To check the status of your entry visit the Status of Entries page (statuses are updated hourly). ALL received entries (both online and paper) are posted on the Status of Entries page.

Athletes will not be considered to be entered into the meet until ALL required documents have been received. Athletes missing required documents (usually date of birth verification) will be listed as "info needed" on the Status of Entries page of the USATF website until all such documents are received.

Eligibility Requirements

• General: All eligible members of USATF and eligible members of other IAAF member federations may compete in these Championships. However, only U.S. citizens may score or win Championship medals. Non-U.S. citizens must enter the Championships using the paper mail-in entry form (online entries are not available).
• Qualifying Standards: There are no qualifying standards for this competition.
• Age Divisions: Athletes must be 30 years or older on August 2, 2012. Individual competition will be conducted in five-year age divisions. Relay competition will be conducted in ten-year age divisions.
• USATF Membership: All U.S. citizens must be 2012 members of USATF in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased online, through your local Association Office, or by calling the USATF National Office at 317-713-4665. Non-U.S. citizens must be eligible members of their IAAF member federation.
• Club Scoring & Athlete Representation: All clubs must be 2012 USATF member organizations to score team points and have athletes represent the club in these Championships. Club affiliations cannot be changed after entries have closed.
• Relays: Club and non-club relay teams shall be separate divisions. USATF Competition Rule 332.2(g) details the definitions for club and non-club relay teams.
