Custom National Youth Indoor Championships medals will be awarded for first through sixth place in each event.
The Proviso West field house has a 200 Meter flat surface and boasts a 8-lane straight-away and 6 lanes around the oval. Fully automatic timing will be provided by Adkins Trak Timing Associates. A concession stand will be open during the meet.
Plastic bottles and coolers are permitted but are subject to inspection by security personnel.
The following items are not permitted in the field house:
A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. There will be no "moving up" in any events, including relays. Competitors in the Sub-Bantam, Bantam and Midget divisions may compete in a maximum of three events, including relays. Athletes in the Youth, Intermediate, and Young Men/Women divisions may compete in a maximum of four events, including relays. Combined events are not included in the event count.
There will be separate check-in areas for running and field events. Athletes in all events must report to the clerking area no later than 45 minutes prior to their event. All athletes are required to remain in the designated area after checking in.
All athletes are required to wear bib numbers to gain access to the event check-in and warm-up track area. Bib numbers must be worn on the front of the chest during competition. Lost bibs can be replaced in the packet pick-up area at a cost of $5.00.
Relay participants must wear a top of the same color(s) and shorts of the same color(s).
The following tables shall, in the absence of extraordinary circumstances, be used to determine the number of rounds and the number of heats in each round to be held and the qualification procedure, i.e. those to advance by place (P) and time (T) for Track Events:
Per USATF Rule 146, all protests must be submitted in writing at once and not later than 30 minutes after the results of an event are posted. This time period will be strictly enforced. The cost to file a protest is $100 cash. This fee is refundable only if the protest is upheld. Only violations of the 2011 USATF Competition Rules may be protested. Judgment calls made by meet officials cannot be protested. Protests that do not meet the above criteria will not be accepted.
The maximum spike lengths allowed for running and field events are: 1/4" Pyramid Spikes.
Christmas tree spikes are not allowed. Spikes will be inspected on the track.
Athletes must bring their personal implements for use during competition. Implement weigh-in will take place at the track one hour before each event. Meet management will provide batons for the relays and starting blocks.
Starting heights for the High Jump will be 10 cm below the Youth Outdoor Entry Performance Guidelines; starting heights for the Pole Vault will be 30 cm below the Youth Outdoor Entry Performance Guidelines. Incremental increases will be 5 cm in the High Jump and 15 cm in the Pole Vault.
Refer to USATF Rule 302.5(n). All competitors must provide their own vaulting poles. Vault athletes must report to be weighed with their bib numbers and poles based on the schedule below. All poles will be inspected for manufacturers' pole ratings and the maximum top hand hold position as determined by the manufacturer. The competitors' weights must be at or below the manufacturers' pole ratings. NO EXCEPTIONS. Poles will be impounded at the time of inspection. Athletes will pick-up their poles and report to the competition site at time of warm-up for the event.
Meet management will not be responsible for any pole that is shipped to or impounded at the meet without a hard protective case. Weigh-in and pole inspection will take place at the track one hour before each event. Go to Top
