Ryan Whiting is the son of Kent and Jill Whiting. He has two brothers named Evan and Ross. In 2011, he married his wife Ashley. They have a son named Charlie. At twenty-four years old, Whiting set the record for the world’s farthest indoor throw in 2011. He then broke the record again in 2012 and won the World Indoor gold medal. Whiting graduated from ASU with a degree in civil engineering. Whiting was the first ASU alum to make an Olympic team. After graduation, he became a volunteer coach for the Penn State track and field team.
