Track and field runs deep in Ameer Webb’s family. His grandfather, Percy-Lee, was a Text State 220y champion, and his father was an accomplished sprinter in California. Webb attended Tustin High School for three and a half years. He spend one semester at a small charter school during his junior year, but he decided to return to Tustin because the charter school did not have any sports programs, which was difficult for Webb, who participated in both football and track and field. Webb started his college career at Cerritos College playing football, but he transferred to Texas A&M to focus on sprinting instead. His focus and determination were pressed as he was moving between teams and coaches during college. He contemplated beginning a career as a police officer, but he now credits his comeback to the sport to the talented sprinters who pushed him every day.
