Wallace Spearmon Jr. joined USA Track & Field in 2022 after an accomplished career as an athlete and athlete representative. A two-time Olympian, Spearmon represented the United States at six World Championships and won five World Championships medals during his competitive career.
He was a two-time USA champion, Olympic Trials winner and seven-time All-American at the University of Arkansas. Following his competitive career, Spearmon continued his involvement in the sport as chair of the USATF Athletes Commission and as an Olympic relay coach.
In his role with USATF, Spearmon oversees international team logistics and athlete services, helping coordinate the organization's international teams and providing support to athletes competing at major championships and other international competitions.
Spearmon has also worked outside of track and field. He served as a police officer in Elkins, Arkansas, and founded the Oval Office Speaker Series in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The program connects elite athletes with corporate leaders and provides professional development opportunities. He also co-hosts the Journey to Gold Zone Podcast with fellow Olympians Erik Kynard Jr., Amy Begley and Rob Mullett.
A native of Fayetteville, Spearmon remains involved in the community and has maintained an interest in sports, travel, electronics, gaming, vehicles and animals.
His experience as an Olympian, international competitor and athlete representative provides a direct understanding of the needs of athletes competing on behalf of Team USATF.
