Sara Reese joined USA Track & Field in 2014 after working in accounting, auditing, finance and consulting for over 20 years.
Before joining USATF, Reese was a certified public accountant and auditor with Katz, Sapper & Miller, where she managed audits and provided tax assistance to clients, including nonprofit organizations, sport and entertainment entities and companies in the construction industry. She later served as an internal auditor for American United Life, conducting audits across several departments of the multibillion-dollar insurance company.
Reese also served as Director of Finance for the Johnson County Library System, where she worked with the Indiana State Board of Accounts to beta-test new procedures for governmental agencies. She subsequently worked as a consultant for nonprofit and government organizations, helping improve compliance, financial processes and operational efficiency.
At USATF, Reese has overseen the expansion of the finance department and improvements to the organization's merchandise operations. Her work has included implementing a new financial accounting system, improving budgeting and inventory processes, standardizing travel and financial procedures and developing financial forecasting models for revenues, expenditures and investment growth.
Reese earned a bachelor's degree from Manchester University. She is a graduate of the WISE Executive Leadership Institute at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and is a member of WISE. She also holds a FINRA Series 6 certification.
Reese is a native of Franklin, Indiana. She volunteers with the Johnson County Humane Society and enjoys traveling, college football and flower gardening.
