INDIANAPOLIS -- Bettering the American indoor record in the women's 800*, Roisin Willis (Stevens Point, WI/USATF Wisconsin) earned recognition as the fourth USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2026.
Pulling off an impressive double last weekend, Willis clocked 1:57.97 for 800 meters at the Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University on Friday, taking down the ratified American indoor record of 1:58.29 that was set by Ajee' Wilson in 2020, and then came back Sunday to win the 600 at the Millrose Games in 1:24.87.
Willis, last year's USATF and NCAA outdoor champion in the 800 as a student at Stanford, moved to No. 8 on the U.S. all-time indoor performer list in the 600 with her winning time in New York City.
Other top performances from last week:
Cooper Lutkenhaus shattered the world and American U20 indoor bests in the men's 600 with a 1:14.15 to win at the Millrose Games. His time made him the No. 5 on the all-time world and American performer lists.
Nikki Hiltz moved to No. 3 on the all-time U.S. women's indoor mile performer list with a 4:19.64 to win at the Millrose Games.
Hana Moll of Washington cleared 4.88/16-0 to win the women's pole vault at the Washington Invitational. That moved her to No. 9 on the all-time world indoor performer list, and to No. 5 on the U.S. performer list.
Colin Sahlman of Northern Arizona broke the 37-year-old collegiate indoor record in the men's 800 with his 1:44.70 to win at the Millrose Games.
Nick Christie won the USATF Mile Race Walk title at the Millrose Games, clocking 5:52.94.
Maria Michta-Coffey was the women's winner in the USATF Mile Race Walk Championships with a 7:16.69 at the Millrose Games.
