INDIANAPOLIS — Unleashing a devastating kick over the final 100 to win the Zurich Diamond League men's 1500, Yared Nuguse (Boulder, Colorado/USATF Colorado) earned recognition as the 31st USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2023, his third such award this year. Nuguse, who was fifth in the 1500 at the World Athletics Championships, used a 13.3 final 100 meters to overtake world champion Josh Kerr of Great Britain and outlean him at the finish line to stop the clock at 3:30.49. It was the USATF champion's second Diamond League win of the year and his fourth finish in the top three. Other top performances from last week:
