INDIANAPOLIS — Winning the men's 60m hurdles at the New Balance Grand Prix in a world-leading time, Grant Holloway (Gainesville, Florida/USATF Florida) earned recognition as the fourth USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2023. Holloway, the world indoor record holder and reigning World Indoor champion, opened his season at Boston with a pair of world-leading efforts, clocking 7.39 in the heats and then handily winning the final in 7.38. His time in the final has only ever been matched or beaten by nine other American men and chopped more than a tenth of a second off the previous world's best mark in 2023.
