The annual HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, brings together top athletics programs from dozens of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This meet takes place at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York City, home to The Fastest Track in the World. For the first time, the HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG will live stream on Peacock, available to all subscribers, through a partnership between The Armory and USATF. The event will live stream on Saturday, January 13th, from 3 PM to 5 PM EST. “We are thrilled that our partners at USA Track & Field are featuring the scholar-athletes of HBCUs on Peacock," remarked Zakia Haywood, meet director of the HBCU Showcase. "This is an incredible opportunity to showcase their stories of brilliance, tenacity and community with Peacock's 30-million subscribers.” Approximately 25 teams will participate in this year’s Showcase including Hampton University, Florida A&M University, Prairie View A&M University, Howard University, Norfolk State University, and many others. In addition to the thrilling action on the track and in the field, the meet is expected to feature performances by an HBCU drumline, along with a college admissions fair for NYC high school students. Top NYC high school athletes will also participate in the NYC Mayor’s Cup Relay Championship within the event. The HBCU Showcase offers a unique opportunity for HBCU college admissions representatives to interact with students who are exploring pathways to college, while also allowing students to gain insights into an HBCU education and experience and an early view into career opportunities at firms like KPMG. “We're delighted that the HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG will be live streamed on Peacock, amplifying the talent and spirit of these incredible athletes,” said Max Siegel, CEO of USA Track & Field. “This partnership marks a milestone in showcasing the rich diversity and exceptional skill within the track and field community, uniting fans across the country in celebration of athletic brilliance. Bringing the power of HBCU athletics to a national audience is a testament to USATF’s commitment to inclusivity and excellence in sports." “At KPMG, we are committed to building a larger, more diverse pipeline of future talent in public accounting and professional services,” said Elena Richards, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at KPMG. “We are honored to collaborate with the Armory Foundation for the second year in our shared mission to create equitable access to rewarding career pathways and higher education for students and are excited that they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on an even larger platform.”
