The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will lead an all-star collection of some of LA’s best artists and musicians, with appearances from the biggest legends in track and field. Indianapolis (February 27, 2023) — LA’s own Grammy-winning artist Judith Hill will headline the Legends Jam at the upcoming USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix Track Festival in May 2023, event organizers announced today. The first-ever Legends Jam will be an exuberant party under the stars, combining first-class musical performances and a celebration of track and field legends who had a transformational impact on the sport and the track and field community. The Legends Jam takes place at the UCLA Tennis Center on the evening of May 27, 2023, following the international track meet and fan festival in the afternoon at UCLA’s historic Drake Stadium.
Judith Hill will lead a wonderfully eclectic collection of LA’s best R&B, Gospel, Soul, and Rock 'N Roll musical acts and surprise athlete-artists, who will be revealed later. All in the family, Hill brings her highly celebrated band, which includes her father, Pee Wee Hill, on bass guitar, and her mother, Michiko Hill, on keyboards. A Los Angeles native, Hill broke through while working with Michael Jackson on This Is It, and has collaborated with artists including Josh Groban, John Legend, and Prince. She was a standout on The Voice and featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom, which also won a Grammy Award for Best Music Film. Hill has released numerous singles and albums, including 2021’s Baby, I'm Hollywood! She has performed at dozens of the world’s premiere performance venues and athletic events, including halftime shows for the LA Chargers and San Francisco 49ers; National Anthem performances for the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and the 2021 NBA Finals; and most recently, as a featured artist at the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. USATF CEO Max Siegel said: “In the second track and field event of the 2023 USATF Grand Prix Series , USATF is thrilled to be in LA with the Olympics on the horizon.
