Toruń, Poland — On the second day of competition at Arena Toruń, Team USATF athletes added 15 medals to their haul at the ninth World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships. After two days of competition, Team USATF sits in third with 32 medals. Field events highlighted the day for the Americans, with a total of four golds in the jumps and throws on day two. A pair of wins came in the women’s throws - Gloria Krug (New Oxford, Pennsylvania) won the W90 shot put with a 4.63m throw and Angela Herzner (Tempe, Arizona) nabbed gold in a competitive field with a 14.02m heave to top Finland’s Kirsi Koro in the W45 weight throw. High jumpers Lee Adkins (Millbrae, California) and Bruce McBarnette (Sterling, Virginia) won the M50 and M65 divisions with clearances of 1.80m and 1.60m. A pair of 3000m Race Walk wins stole the show on the track as Joel Dubow (Atlanta, Georgia) and Spencer Parrish (Waterbury, Connecticut) strode to gold. Dubow finished with a time of 21:35.93 for the M80 crown with spencer Parish a few minutes behind in 26:56.76 for the M85 title. April Lund (Bismarck, North Dakota) added gold to yesterday’s silver with a win in the W40 8km cross country race.
