INDIANAPOLIS — Winning a World Athletics Combined Events Tour - Gold event, Chari Hawkins (San Diego, California/USATF San Diego-Imperial) earned recognition as the 22nd USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2022. Hawkins, who finished fourth at the USATF Combined Events Championships last month in Arkansas, added seven points to her lifetime best with a 6,243 score that won the event at Arona, Spain, on the island of Tenerife, by 69 points. She cleared a lifetime best of 1.85m/6-0.75 in the high jump on day one and then had season bests in all three events on day two as she recorded the ninth-highest score in the world this year.
