INDIANAPOLIS — Running away from his challengers over the final two miles to win the men's USATF 10 Mile Road Championships presented by Toyota, Hillary Bor (Colorado Springs, Colorado/USATF Colorado) earned recognition as the 33rd USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2022. Bor, best known as a two-time Olympian and three-time World Championships team member in the 3,000m steeplechase, shared the lead with Shadrack Kipchirchir through the first few miles of the Medtronic TC course that started in Minneapolis and finished in St. Paul. At the halfway point Bor and Kipchirchir were a step behind Biya Simbassa, with Sam Chelanga also in the mix as all four passed the mark in 23:15. Over the next three miles, Bor and Chelanga steadily built a lead over the others and it was a two-man race. In the final stages of the race, Bor surged again and gapped Chelanga by eight seconds to win in 46:06, chopping 26 seconds off the course record. Other top performances from last week:
