— Janeah Stewart became the third-best performer in women’s 20-pound weight throw history with a 24.82m/79-3.75 at the Music City Challenge in Nashville.
— Sam Kendricks retook the world lead in the men’s pole vault with a 5.90m/19-4.25 clearance at Rouen, France.
— Running on the always-quick Boston U. oval, Sean McGorty clocked a world-leading 13:21.35 in the 5,000m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
COLLEGIATE
— Now the owner of six of the fastest 11 times ever run in the 60m hurdles by a collegian, Florida’s Grant Holloway just missed his own collegiate record with a 7.43 at the Tyson Invitational. He set the CR of 7.42 at Tyson last year.
— Houston and Texas A&M staged an epic men’s 4x400m relay battle at Clemson’s Tiger Paw Invitational, with the Cougars coming out on top in 3:01.51. That was the fourth-fastest time in collegiate (and world) history, and A&M was only .05 back at 3:01.56. The Aggies had a 44.24 anchor leg by Devin Dixon, the fastest indoor 400m split in history.
— Stanford’s Grant Fisher and Wisconsin’s Alicia Monson were impressive winners in the 3,000m at the Millrose Games, with both moving to No. 3 on the all-time collegiate indoor lists. Fisher’s 7:42.62 is the fastest ever by an American collegian, while Monson’s 8:45.97 ranks behind only Karissa Schweizer and Jenny Simpson.
— Also at the Millrose Games, Penn State’s Danae Rivers ran 4:29.47 in the women’s mile to move to No. 10 on the collegiate all-time indoor list. Her 4:11.24 en route 1500 time ranks her sixth all-time.
— Continuing his hot streak in the throws, Payton Otterdahl of North Dakota State climbed to fourth on the all-time collegiate 35-pound weight throw list with a 24.06m/78-11.25 chunk at Brookings, South Dakota.
— Moving to ninth on the all-time collegiate indoor list, USC’s Chanel Brissett won the 60m hurdles at the Tyson Invitational in 7.90.
— Houston’s Obi Igbokwe zipped to a world-leading 45.35 in the 400m at Clemson.
— A 22.82 in the 200m at the Tyson Invitational put North Carolina A&T’s Kayla White atop the world list.
